Useful Guernsey info:-

Guernsey, officially known as the Bailiwick of Guernsey is the smaller of the two islands that make up the Channel Islands. Guernsey is divided into ten different parishes and there is plenty to visit and do regardless of your age. If you are visiting Guernsey in nice weather, Shell Beach is definitely reccommended. Situated on Herm Island, the beach is only accessible by air or sea, making it an adventure just to arrive at the location. However, if you choose to fly there, you get to see the beautiful sites of Guernsey, before arriving at a destination that has been voted as one of Britain's Best. Whilst you are at the beach, you can take a look around the island itself, taking in all the magnificent sites.

There is so much history in Guernsey and by visiting places such as The Little Chapel, Castle Cornet and Guernsy Museum really allows you to take it all in. For a more specialised look at history, why not visit La Valletter Underground Military Museum. Visitors to this attraction can learn about Guernsey's military history, including both World War I and the German Occupation of the island in World War II. The museum leads you through air conditioned tunnels built by the German forces where you can see a wide variety of exhibitions, displays and information. The National Trust of Guernsey Folk and Costume Museum is an excellent day out for the whole family. Set in some stables, this museum depicts life as it used to be around 100 years ago. It is a fun way to get children interested in the history of the island.

There are plenty of shops in Guernsey, both high street and local, as well as plenty of bars and retauraunts to choose from. Guernsey is a beautiful place to visit and offers something for everyone.
